Broughty Ferry is a beautiful coastal town with with a stunning castle set on the waterfront. Full of small independent businesses its a great place to shop, eat and full of gift shops. Cancellations can only be made up to 24hrs before. Trips cancelled on the day will not be refunded or exchanged. We operate on a tidal estuary with very tight restrictions. If you are late we may not be able to return you and you will have to make your own way back.

Arrival and departure point is the public slipway next to the carpark in the centre of Tayport. The opposite side to the boats in marina. Please DO NOT enter the gated harbour and be careful(particularly children) near the edge of the water. Please wait to be called forward for embarkation.

Important information

Please arrive 15 minutes before the start of the tour and wear warm clothing. All our Trips are dependant on the weather and can be cancelled at short notice. Appropriate clothing for the weather and vessel must be worn. We would not normally cancel due to rain. Trips not suitable for people who have back injuries or pregnant women. Your safety is paramount and for that reason the skippers directions must be followed at all times. Failure to do this will result in being asked to leave boat (we'll find a bit of land first).

We operate on and tidal estuary and CANNOT run late we will leave on time!


Alcohol and boats do not mix. Any signs of intoxication will result in NOT being allowed to board.

You are to take part in a High Performance Powerboat Experience that carries a risk element. Due to the nature of the activity, you’re requested to read the following information and sign to say that you understand it. Please ask if there is anything you don’t understand or if you require any further information.


Ribs whilst safe and exciting, they are also dynamic, lively and are likely be subjected to significant shock loads. This event will not suit those who have neck, back, hip, knee or foot problems or any other medical condition made worse by shock loads.


Ribs will not suit those who are either pregnant or are significantly overweight and are unsuitable for those who have consumed alcohol or taken intoxicating drugs.


Please ensure that all members of your party are made aware of this information


The skipper will give you a full safety brief prior to boarding; instruct you in how to board the vessel safely, where to sit, the location of safety equipment, and what to do in the unlikely event of an emergency. All bookings are subject to the full terms and conditions of business available on our website or in writing on request.


Your life-jackets are automatically self-inflating (wearing a life-jacket is mandatory).


In the unlikely event that you find yourself in the water, your life-jacket will automatically self-inflate. Should it not do so, there’s a manual inflation toggle which you will require to pull which will inflate your life-jacket. You’ll be instructed as to the location of this toggle during the skipper’s safety brief. We will adjust your life-jacket to the correct fit. They’re fully adjustable to all persons but require adjustment to a correct and comfortable fit. (Assistance will be given by our staff). Tell the skipper if you are a non swimmer - Please do not pull the yellow/red toggle in a non emergency situation, or a £40 re-charge fee will be made in all circumstances.


Powerboating is unsuitable for people with some medical conditions :


Ladies who are pregnant, people with back or spinal injuries, hip or joint problems, heart conditions or epilepsy or any other medical condition which could be affected by the fast motion of a powerboat ride or experience. If you are taking medication that you feel will affect your ability to partake in this experience safely, please notify us prior to departure but if you’re taking medication that still allows you to travel with us, please ensure you bring sufficient dosage for the next few hours, and make your skipper aware prior to departure.


You may get wet whilst taking part in this activity This will vary according to weather conditions and is beyond our control. We do not accept any responsibility for any property lost or damaged if brought with you. If you do so, it is remains entirely at your own risk whilst participating in this activity. If you take a camera, please only use it when the boat is travelling at low speed or stationary.


Please maintain the demonstrated positions whilst underway and hold on firmly whether seated or stood as demonstrated during briefing. When the vessel is travelling at speed, do not attempt to twist or look behind you, maintain a firm grip on seats /grab handles at all times and keep your legs flexed, supporting your weight if sitting astride OR stood over a ‘jockey’ seat. This will mitigate any impact / shock, and if at any time during the trip, you feel uncomfortable, have any sort of pain, or simply wish to stop, please notify the skipper immediately. Shout STOP.


We, the undersigned have read, understand and accept all of the above details. I agree that I’m participating in this experience entirely at my own risk. (parent/guardian/authorised adult must sign for minors under 16 yrs)


and we the undersigned agree to save harmless and keep indemnified SaltDog Marine and its servants, agents, crew or other individuals or bodies concerned with running or operating the SaltDog Marine power boats from and against all actions, claims, costs and expenses and demands in respect of myself\ ourselves or anyone connected with me \ us however caused arising out of or in connection with my taking part in the power boating activity AND I \ we hereby acknowledge that my\ our presence upon the said boat is entirely at my \our risk.


I\ We confirm that I/we have read and understand this notice and have been given the opportunity of asking any questions about the effect of it which have been explained to my\our satisfaction.


I have fully disclosed any medical conditions or injury that I have had during the past 10 years. You could suffer injury if you have any medical conditions, such as heart or respiratory problems, any back or neck problems, diabetes, asthma or any other condition requiring regular medication or if you are pregnant. A full safety briefing covering your lifejackets/ equipment/layout will be completed prior to boarding by your helm.


You have received a full and detailed safety briefing. Did anybody not hear or understand anything in the briefing?


Whilst on board a Rib, you may be subjected to significant shock loads should the Rib land heavily.


This event is not suitable for anybody with an illness or injury for which shock loads may present a problem.

This event is not suitable for those who have consumed alcohol or taken intoxicating drugs.


We strongly recommend using the correct posture as demonstrated in the safety briefing to help absorb shock forces.


You have the opportunity to stay ashore, but in coming out on the boat you accept all risks.
